Ms. Evelyn YK Lee, an international entrepreneur, is the CEO and Managing Partner of The Vine Group. Ms. Lee is currently leading a private equity initiative focused on the mining and natural resources sector in emerging markets. The firm advises and invests in both privately held and publicly listed companies.

She has led corporate advisory teams; fostered strategic business development; prepared joint ventures; planned new market entries; and actively engaged in transaction negotiations, business facilitations, project executions, international investment road shows, securities promotions, and fund-raising initiatives for emerging and small-to-medium size entities in China, Taiwan, Canada, the U.S., the U.K., and Germany. Her key strength is the ability to increase shareholder and company value by means of various innovative strategic methods.

Assignments with more than 20 companies have included corporate turnarounds, debt and equity financings, and capital structuring in domestic and cross-border transactions. Sectors included bio-pharmaceuticals (stem cells), R&D pharmaceuticals, health care, Internet technology, printing and publishing, electronics manufacturing, mining, port infrastructure, agri-business and professional sports. Ms. Lee travels extensively for business development meetings with stock exchanges, municipalities, and businesses located in Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Indonesia, China, Singapore, India, Korea, Japan, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, Switzerland, Panama, Brazil and Argentina. Ms. Lee oversees and manages affiliated partnership development internationally and advises global investors with investment strategies in Chinese companies. She also advises Chinese companies in their strategic global outreach initiatives. She has syndicated private placements with investment banks and other institutions.

Prior to founding The Vine Group, Ms. Lee represented private investors in Asia through her management of First Venture Fund, a small private equity fund that led seed-round investments in high-tech Silicon Valley start-ups in 2000. In 1995, she began advising and exclusively directing a prominent southern Taiwanese family's overseas investment portfolio. She was instrumental in navigating the family into areas not limited to financial, trust, tax planning, and financial education. She structured the family investment portfolios for the 3 children and arranged additional financial advisor from major Canadian investment house to actively assist her with strategically managing their portfolio. In 1997, Ms Lee began advising wealthy Mainland China families with their private family financial needs, post their immigration to Canada. Ms. Lee has amassed various expert resources to professionally support and facilitate these family wealth management and related needs.

Ms. Lee is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese and speaks often at professional conferences. Previous speaking engagements include the Global Chinese Financial Forum in Shanghai, the SME Financing and Investment Conference in Shandong, both in 2007. She was panel speaker for the China Real Estate Forum in New York, the IP Panel about "Doing Business in China" in Austin, and "The Financial Crisis and Its Effects on Entrepreneurship" in Atlanta, all in 2008.

A Hong Kong-born Canadian citizen, she holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from the University of Manitoba, Canada. She spends much of her time in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and the United States.
