Vine Group attends the Annual Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Conference in Toronto
March 6th to 9th, 2011 – Toronto
Vine Group Founder, Ms. Evelyn YK Lee and Dr. Harrison Cookenboo (Ph.D., P.Geo.) Geologist Advisor, attended the PDAC 2011 Convention in Toronto from March 6 to 9, which is the largest mineral exploration conference in the world. The PDAC is world-renowned for its annual convention, trade show, and investors exchange. This year exceeded previous attendance figures with nearly 30,000 registrants counted, reflecting the high level of current interest in mineral exploration investment worldwide. The conference provided a venue for mineral exploration companies to display their projects and have held exchanges with investors. Presentations highlighted recent successes, including talks attended by Dr. Cookenboo describing recent diamond explorations and development successes in Canada at De Beers' Victor Diamond Mine in Alberta, Stornoway's advanced Renard Project in Quebec, and Peregrine's promising Chidliak discovery on Baffin Island.
Ms. Lee and Dr. Cookenboo were conversing with Mr. Joe Hinzer, President of Watts, Griffis and McOuat Limited ("WGM") and Chair of the PDAC Planning Committee. WGM is Canada's longest running independent firm of geological and mining consultants with distinguished history dating back to 1962. Two of the three founding members of WGM have been inaugurated into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame. Ms. Lee was exchanging thoughts with Cal Rose (Executive Member), Jo-Ann Carroll (Past President) and Janet Stovel (Executive Member) of the Woman's Associations of the Mining Industry of Canada.
